It's that time again! San Diego's bloggers will gather at RA Sushi for an evening of good ol' fashion networking. Meet your digital neighbors, find a new guest blogger, or just kick back and enjoy a few libations with friends on Wednesday March 23rd at 7:30pm.

As you know, we keep our events pretty informal, it's up to you to make the most of it. We usually don't do nametags, speakers, or announcements, but we recognize some of you like a little structure too. With that being said, we'd like to focus this particular event on finding a guest blogger (or two).

We feel like guest contributors have a very powerful effect on growing our blogs and we'd like to inspire more of this. As you introduce yourself to new bloggers and you meet people with like minded interests, I encourage you to pose the question… "what kind of blog content are you looking for and how can I help with that?"

If all of us walk away from the event with a few potential guest bloggers, we feel like this will greatly increase the collaboration in our community and contribute to a 'rising tide'.

RA Sushi (@RASushiSanDiego) is roping off their bar area for our group and extending Happy Hour specials until 9:30pm. Parking can be a pain, but Horton Plaza is nearby and will validate up to 3 hours if you get your validation before the mall closes (about 8pm).

We are looking forward to seeing you Wednesday, March 23rd.

Learn how to pitch investors – but this time, learn from someone who pitches every day. As his job.

On Thursday,Oren Klaff and a panel of investors are going to help you learn what really works when raising capital. Imagine this for a moment – you’re sitting across from an investor, the one person who can help you secure the investment capital your company needs. But instead of listening to you, he’s looking out the window and checking his phone for messages. This is called a “beta trap” and you’re about to step right in it. Your next move means the difference between getting an investment or going home empty handed. Learn how to deal with beta traps and many other problems that you may face on your path to raising capital.
