What Investors Really Look For
Event Description
The Brink SBDC at University of San Diego, Knauss School of Business presents Investor Readiness: Due Diligence Deep Dive to Know. In this Investor Readiness workshop, founders will gain a clear, behind-the-scenes view of how investors conduct due diligence and evaluate risk, readiness, and trust before making an investment decision. Led by Silvia Mah, a seasoned angel investor, venture advisor, and professor of entrepreneurship, this session demystifies what happens after the pitch—and why many promising startups stall at this stage.
Hosted at The Brink SBDC, the workshop walks founders through the diligence process across team, market, product, traction, financials, and legal considerations. Founders will learn how investors interpret diligence materials, what raises confidence versus concern, and how to prepare in advance so diligence becomes a momentum-builder rather than a blocker.
