Getting Good at Getting Great with Professor Craig Wortmann

February 29 @ 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Join us to gain an understanding of how to get good at getting great – at anything.

Getting Good at Getting Great
The Science of Deliberate Practice

As individuals, we experience bursts of learning in our lives…acquiring an MBA, joining a new company, moving to a new country or starting a family. These bursts of learning help us rapidly acquire new knowledge, skill and discipline. But how do we continue this development process during the 98% of the time we are not in burst mode? This workshop was designed to equip sellers and sales leaders with the “five things that must be true” to build a system of deliberate practice around themselves and their people. We call this “Getting Good At Getting Great (at anything),” and it’s a fast-paced, hard-hitting session that will leave you with immediately applicable tools. Several of the takeaways from this workshop are:

  • Identify the five components of deliberate practice (knowledge)
  • Learn how to give – and receive – feedback (skill)
  • Decide on a concrete goal around which you will build the deliberate practice scaffold for the next three months (discipline)

The Speaker

Professor Craig Wortmann, is the Founder and Academic Director of the Kellogg Sales Institute (KSI). The Institute defines sales as “helping people make progress in their lives” and thus everything we do is in the service of helping people become both magnetic and unstoppable in their pursuit of progress…for themselves and for everyone they come across.

Professor Wortmann is a Clinical Professor of Marketing and his teaching covers a wide range of topics based on his experiences as a professional salesperson, CEO, founder, entrepreneur and investor. In all of his teaching – from massive online courses to MBA and Executive MBA classrooms – Craig attempts to create immersive experiences that help people develop into magnetic leaders who drive predictably consistent high growth, for themselves and their organizations. Craig joined the Kellogg faculty in 2017 after almost a decade teaching at Chicago Booth.
