The Business Model Canvas is not your ordinary Business Plan. It is much easier to use than a traditional business plan because it is simple to construct. In this interactive workshop, the instructor(s) will help you create your own Business Model Canvas – a visual chart with nine blocks describing your company’s value proposition, customer segments, and relationships, key activities, revenue streams, cost structure, key resources, and partners. The Business Model Canvas allows you to understand how these nine building blocks relate to each other, and the different ways these relationships can be changed to increase efficiency or effectiveness of your business.
Your team will have a much easier time understanding your business model and be much more likely to buy into your vision when it’s laid out on a single page. Using this tool will give you focus, flexibility, and transparency. In addition, all work done can be reused if a more comprehensive business plan is needed later. The Canvas is popular with entrepreneurs for business model innovation.
This workshop will be held IN-PERSON ONLY. Registration deadline is 9:00PM the day before.
Presenter:
Lori Treadwell, owner/operator of a family owned wholesale optical laboratory for over 38 years. Knowledgeable in all aspects of running the business; able to work with and mentor many different employee personalities while focusing on production schedules and quality issues. In 2011, sold the business and became involved in a nonprofit organization that provides glasses to those who cannot afford the gift of sight. I have been involved in all aspects of the wholesale optical business; production supervisor, purchasing, accounting, date entry, customer service, all lab work, and anything else that needed to be done including janitorial. In that time I developed strong personal relationships with my customers. I feel that in small business, this is the key to success.
