SUMMARY:March 5 - AI\, ML and Computer Vision Meetup
DESCRIPTION:Join our virtual meetup to hear talks from experts on cutting-edge topics across AI\, ML\, and computer vision. \nDate and Location \nMar 5\, 2026\n9 – 11 AM Pacific\nOnline. Register for the Zoom! \nMOSPA: Human Motion Generation Driven by Spatial Audio \nEnabling virtual humans to dynamically and realistically respond to diverse auditory stimuli remains a key challenge in character animation\, demanding the integration of perceptual modeling and motion synthesis. Despite its significance\, this task remains largely unexplored. Most previous works have primarily focused on mapping modalities like speech\, audio\, and music to generate human motion. As of yet\, these models typically overlook the impact of spatial features encoded in spatial audio signals on human motion. \nTo bridge this gap and enable high-quality modeling of human movements in response to spatial audio\, we introduce the first comprehensive Spatial Audio-Driven Human Motion (SAM) dataset\, which contains diverse and high-quality spatial audio and motion data. For benchmarking\, we develop a simple yet effective diffusion-based generative framework for human MOtion generation driven by SPatial Audio\, termed MOSPA\, which faithfully captures the relationship between body motion and spatial audio through an effective fusion mechanism. Once trained\, MOSPA can generate diverse\, realistic human motions conditioned on varying spatial audio inputs. We perform a thorough investigation of the proposed dataset and conduct extensive experiments for benchmarking\, where our method achieves state-of-the-art performance on this task.

SUMMARY:Business - Bowling - Billiards - Happy Hour
DESCRIPTION:Business – Bowling – Billiards – Happy Hour\nIf you live in San Diego\, you’ve probably heard how amazing Hotel Lafayette is. And if you haven’t\, this is a perfect excuse to come check it out with a great group of people. \nInside Hotel Lafayette is The Gutter — a retro-cool hangout with a two‑lane bowling alley\, billiards\, arcade‑style video games\, and a happy hour from 5–8 PM\, Monday through Thursday\, which makes this an easy\, relaxed after‑work meetup. \nWe’ve already hosted a smaller\, low‑promotion event here and had a great time. It’s exactly the kind of place our community naturally gravitates toward\, and it’s somewhere we plan to keep coming back to.\nWhen we hosted this last time\, we advertised bowling — but over 90% of people mostly wanted to hang out\, grab a drink\, and meet new people. So think of this as a very casual\, come‑as‑you‑are meetup\, with bowling as an optional bonus. \nHow Bowling Works at Hotel Lafayette\nIf you want to bowl\, here’s how it works: The Gutter has two bowling lanes. A lane is $50 for a full hour\, which includes shoes\, balls\, and everything you need. Lanes can be reserved up to one week in advance via OpenTable. If you reserve a lane in advance\, I’m happy to list you as sponsoring the lane. I’ll create a simple sign‑up so people can rotate through and bowl with you. They also keep one lane reserved for walk‑ins\, so if you decide day‑of that you want to bowl\, you can try grabbing it when you arrive. If bowling isn’t your thing\, no problem at all — The Gutter also has pool tables\, arcade games\, and plenty of space to just hang out\, grab a drink\, and actually have conversations. \nThe Vibe\nThis is a low‑pressure\, no‑agenda meetup. No panels. No pitches. No presentations. Just a good crowd of people across industries — founders\, investors\, operators\, creatives\, and professionals — hanging out in one of the most unique spots in San Diego. Come for 20 minutes or stay the whole night. Bowl\, play pool\, or just post up with a drink and meet new people. We’re making this one 3 hours to make it easy for people getting off work to stop by whenever convenient \nParking Notes\nParking around Hotel Lafayette can take a little planning: Free street parking is available in nearby neighborhoods (limited). Metered parking is available and stops charging at 6 PM. Paid valet parking is also available at the hotel \nSponsorships & Questions\nIf you’d like to: Sponsor a bowling lane. Cover a round of drinks\, Get some light visibility for your brand. Or if you have any questions at all\, feel free to reach out directly: Saul 📧 Saul@builderbackernetwork.com Looking forward to hanging out and enjoying one of the best venues San Diego has to offer.

SUMMARY:San Diego | Claude Impact Lab
DESCRIPTION:Real civic problems. Real city data. One day to build something that matters. \nJoin us for Anthropic’s first Claude Impact Lab — a one-day hackathon where engineers build AI tools that solve real problems for the City of San Diego\, using real city data! \nSan Diego generates massive amounts of public data — permitting records\, parking systems\, public safety incidents\, short-term rental compliance\, municipal code\, council meeting transcripts. This data shapes how the city operates and how 1.4 million residents interact with their government. But most of it is locked behind clunky portals\, buried in PDFs\, or scattered across systems that don’t talk to each other. \nAnthropic is providing API credits\, swag\, and prizes. City staff and domain experts will be in the room. The Claude Code team will be on hand. A panel of AI leaders and city officials will judge final demos. \nRegister here: https://lu.ma/6ok9h92y
