SUMMARY:Digital Pixel Art - DPA: Monthly Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Join us for our monthly meeting on May 28\, 2026 at 7:00pm \nThe boundaries of visual art are changing.\nPhotography\, digital painting\, compositing\, 3D rendering\, and AI-generated imagery are no longer separate conversations — they are converging into something new. \nBe a part of the gathering at Digital Pixel Art (DPA) and join our expanded conversation. \nIf you create with pixels — whether through a camera\, stylus\, software\, rendering engine\, or artificial intelligence — you belong here. \nThis meeting also marks the evolution of our former DPX-AI group into a broader\, more inclusive community. Rather than separating AI from other digital methods\, DPA brings everything together under one creative umbrella.\nBecause today\, the tool matters less than the vision. \n*** \n## What to Expect \n• Member sharing (send me 3-5 image files if you’d like to share: email lavogelart@gmail.com)\n• Continued discussion of how we want this community to grow\n• Exploration of what “digital art” means moving forward \nThis is not about defending old definitions.\nIt’s about exploring new possibilities. \nLet’s step beyond the camera and explore the future of digital art together. \nSee you online. \n— Larry Vogel \nWe will be using the GoToMeeting online service for our meetings. Use the link below to join us : \nDigital Pixel Art – DPA Monthly Meetup Group Last Thursdays\, 7:00 pm\nPlease join my meeting from your computer\, tablet or smartphone.\nhttps://meet.goto.com/713139485 \nGet the app now and be ready when your first meeting starts: \nhttps://meet.goto.com/install

SUMMARY:AI for Filmmakers: Your Tools\, Your Voice\, Your Rights
DESCRIPTION:AI for Filmmakers: Your Tools\, Your Voice\, Your Rights\nSaturday\, May 30 | 10 AM – 2 PM \nWHO THIS WORKSHOP IS FOR: Writers\, directors\, composers\, producers\, and post-production professionals who have tried AI\, gotten something generic back\, and thought “I could have written that better myself.” You’re right. This workshop shows you how to use these tools to actually reflect your expertise instead of flattening it. \nWHAT YOU GET: \n1. Your expertise becomes the asset. You identify what only you bring to the table\, then build AI tools around that. Not the other way around.\n2. Hands-on building\, not a lecture. Laptops open. You build a system that knows your work\, your voice\, and your standards. You leave with something that works on your next project.\n3. See a real AI system in action. A live demo of a working pipeline that separates what AI should handle from what it should never decide. You see the architecture\, then apply the same principles to your own work.\n4. Frameworks that protect you. Where the lines are on AI rights\, consent\, and credit for your specific role. Practical decision tools\, not policy lectures.\n5. A room of peers working through the same questions. Shared language for a conversation that matters to your career. \nThe advantage in 2026 doesn’t go to the person who works fastest. It goes to the person who works deepest. Four hours to build the tools to go deeper. Bring your laptop. \n$50 off for all FilmNet Members\nRegister: https://amplifyai.to/filmnet.html\nOr email [alex@amplifyai.to](mailto:alex@amplifyai.to) | 619-755-3246

SUMMARY:The AGI Transition
DESCRIPTION:A free\, public workshop — no technical background needed. \nArtificial intelligence is no longer just getting better at narrow tasks — it’s beginning to look general. Many researchers believe we’re entering the early stages of the AGI transition: a period where AI systems start to match or exceed human abilities across a wide range of domains. \nThis workshop explores what AGI actually means\, how to think about it intuitively (without hype or jargon)\, and what this transition could mean for your job\, your relationships\, and your day-to-day life — much sooner than most people expect. \nTogether\, we’ll explore questions like: \n\n\nWhat is AGI? How do experts define artificial general intelligence\, and how is it different from today’s AI tools? \n\n\nWork & Jobs: Which kinds of jobs are already being automated or transformed — and which ones experts believe are most likely to remain resilient? \n\n\nHuman Connection: How is AI starting to replace or supplement roles once filled by coworkers\, friends\, tutors\, therapists\, and companions? \n\n\nRobots & the Physical World: What happens when advanced AI is paired with rapidly improving robotics — and which parts of the economy could change next? \n\n\nWhat you’ll get: \n\n\nA clear\, beginner-friendly explanation of AGI and why it matters \n\n\nReal-world examples of how AI is already reshaping work and social life \n\n\nLive demos that highlight both impressive capabilities and emerging risks \n\n\nInteractive discussion and exercises to test your own intuitions about the future \n\n\nCome ready to grapple with one of the biggest transitions humanity may ever face — a shift that could redefine not just how we work\, but how we relate to each other\, find meaning\, and navigate a world increasingly shaped by intelligent machines.

SUMMARY:Founders Fire
DESCRIPTION:Come gather around the fire with fellow founders and co-creators of the entrepreneurial ecosystem in San Diego. Everyone’s stoke shines brighter when we connect with kindred spirits in business and life. Let’s come together to build community\, share experiences\, and see how can support each other. Stoked to see you there! \nThe 1st Founders Fire 🔥 was a bright shining success\, so we are getting together again!! \nCheck out the video recaps from last time to get a feel for the vibe: Instagram • LinkedIn \nHot news! 🔥 Stoked to announce our special guests & sponsors for the Founders Fire 🔥 coming up on May 31st at Moonlight Beach:  Fireside chat with Garret Akerson\, warm up by @HopeRoseSpeaks\, & delicious kombucha and yerba mate sponsored by Babe Beverages. Learn more about Garret\, Hope Rose\, and Babe below… \n🔥 Garret Akerson and his wife co-founded Kindred Bravely\, a leading maternity and breastfeeding apparel brand. They successfully bootstrapped the company and grew it to $60M in annual revenue before selling a majority stake to private equity. They co-created a Vivid Vision for Kindred Bravely and manifested it into reality through the power of purpose\, alignment\, and exceptional teamwork. Garret is passionate about applying the learnings of his entrepreneurial journey and membership in world-class organizations such as Vistage and YPO to support other founders to grow and scale. He resides in Encinitas\, California with his wife and two boys\, spending his free time hiking\, cycling\, and training for marathons. Garret lives and works boldly and intentionally. \n🔥 Hope Rose @HopeRoseSpeaks is a former sponsored ultra-endurance athlete\, a self-published health + wellness author\, and a voice featured on platforms such as NBC Nightly News and the Today Show\, she blends grit\, integrity\, and vision in everything she builds. The vision of Hope Rose is to bring support\, guidance\, and real tools to every soul. Now\, that vision is crystallizing through HEALthy\, a new kind of human technology designed to rewire habits\, reconnect people to their own inner wisdom\, and bring mind–body–spirit transformation into everyday life. \n🔥 Babe Beverages founded in sunny San Diego\, is driven by a passion for health\, wellness\, and positive vibes. In 2017\, Babe started with a small tasting room to serve the community and introduce a delicious\, more approachable kombucha. The tasting room acted as their R&D lab\, where they perfected their brews\, starting small and experimenting with flavors until they found their winning combinations. Now\, expanding beyond kombucha\, they’re venturing into yerba mate\, remaining loyal to their mission of offering healthier options with a kick. Babe Beverages is the culmination of a passion project that evolved into a business as family and friends united over a shared commitment to healthy living. Kind thanks to Babe Beverages for sponsoring Founders Fire! \nFeel free to get in touch if you are interested to support in any way. \nKindly\,\nLuke

SUMMARY:VibeCraft Power Hour
DESCRIPTION:VibeCraft is a recurring\, collaborative working session where ideas turn into experiments and experiments turn into real builds. Each session is shaped by the group. We review what is emerging\, explore new directions\, and decide together what is worth building next. \nThis is not a presentation or a passive meetup. It is an active\, hands-on environment where members contribute ideas\, react to each other’s work\, and influence the direction of future sessions. Expect open discussion\, live demos\, shared whiteboards\, and practical exploration. \nSessions may include live walkthroughs of tools\, automations\, and AI agents\, discussions around product and company design\, rapid demos from members\, and breakdowns of different approaches to building with modern AI systems. Topics evolve over time\, but the focus remains the same: learning by doing\, building in public\, and exploring a high-tech\, high-touch future grounded in curiosity\, collaboration\, and thoughtful design. \nCome ready to participate\, share what you are building\, and help shape what we explore next as a VibeCraft community.

SUMMARY:1 Million Cups
DESCRIPTION:1 Million Cups is a weekly event for entrepreneurs\, by entrepreneurs — built on the belief that conversations over coffee can accelerate innovation. Each week\, two founders take the stage to pitch their business for six minutes\, followed by 20 minutes of honest\, constructive feedback from a room full of fellow entrepreneurs\, business professionals\, students\, and curious minds.\nThis isn’t a pitch competition — it’s a collaborative environment where ideas are refined\, challenges are unpacked\, and next steps become clearer. Attendees are encouraged to ask thoughtful questions\, offer insights\, and share resources that help presenters grow. \nWhether you’re launching your first startup\, scaling your next venture\, or just looking to get plugged into your local entrepreneurial ecosystem\, 1 Million Cups is where you’ll find the energy\, perspective\, and community you need to move forward. \nCome for the coffee. Stay for the conversation. Leave with a better business.
