SUMMARY:VibeCraft Power Hour
DESCRIPTION:VibeCraft is a recurring\, collaborative working session where ideas turn into experiments and experiments turn into real builds. Each session is shaped by the group. We review what is emerging\, explore new directions\, and decide together what is worth building next. \nThis is not a presentation or a passive meetup. It is an active\, hands-on environment where members contribute ideas\, react to each other’s work\, and influence the direction of future sessions. Expect open discussion\, live demos\, shared whiteboards\, and practical exploration. \nSessions may include live walkthroughs of tools\, automations\, and AI agents\, discussions around product and company design\, rapid demos from members\, and breakdowns of different approaches to building with modern AI systems. Topics evolve over time\, but the focus remains the same: learning by doing\, building in public\, and exploring a high-tech\, high-touch future grounded in curiosity\, collaboration\, and thoughtful design. \nCome ready to participate\, share what you are building\, and help shape what we explore next as a VibeCraft community.

SUMMARY:Using AI to Help Solve Complex Systems Engineering Problems (Wednesday\, 17 June 2026\, 5:45-7pm Pacific Time)
DESCRIPTION:Please RSVP \nPlease join us on Wednesday\, 17 June\, 2026\, for a HYBRID presentation by Mr. Ken Cureton\, Chair of the INCOSE Resilient Systems Working Group\, on solving complex problems using Artificial Intelligence (AI). This presentation will be held at the Sapphire Indian Restaurant in Rancho Bernardo! \nIMPORTANT INFORMATION \nDate: Wednesday\, 17 June 2026\, from 5:30-7pm Pacific Time (presentation starts at 6pm) \nLocation: Sapphire Indian Restaurant\, 16785 Bernardo Center Drive\, San Diego\, CA\, 92128 (Google Maps) \nCost: FREE! There is an optional dinner (Indian food\, soft drinks) at $5 for INCOSE members and students\, $15 for non-members. RSVP \nZoom Info: https://incose-org.zoom.us/j/88338821096?pwd=bTa923S6IbRYbda1yoFXACI5HnxLGK.1 \nMeeting ID: 883 3882 1096\nPasscode: 061981 \nJoin by Telephone: 669-444-9171 (same login info as above) \nSYNOPSIS \nSystems Engineers are often confronted with complex\, complicated\, difficult\, and wicked problems. The INCOSE Complex Systems Working Group is developing a Tradecraft Guide to assist with such problems. Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI)\, specifically Large Language Models (LLMs) such as ChatGPT\, Claude.ai\, Grok\, Gemini\, and others can of great value in showing how to effectively use that resource. This presentation describes a systematic approach that may be useful in developing potential solutions to complex problems. \nFirst\, AI can assist in addressing the correct problem\, and all of that problem– not just a portion of the problem space. Next\, users of the guide may face challenges in selecting from the many analytical methods presented in the guide or may lack sufficient time to consider all possibilities. AI tools can assist in formulating an analysis plan for complex systems. \nNext\, many people are struggling with AI prompt engineering\, so a comprehensive set of tailorable prompts are presented in the guide. This will help Systems Engineers with technical\, ethical\, legal\, and organizational considerations regarding use of AI in analyses. \nAnd finally\, any AI-generated analysis should be validated before implementation\, so the user is guided in accomplishing such validation\, along with a reminder of limitations of AI-assisted analysis and the need for documentation and record keeping. \nPRESENTER: Mr. Ken Cureton

SUMMARY:Diving deeper into software development discussions
DESCRIPTION:• What we’ll do\nCome join in discussions about Vim\, Emacs\, Linux\, Elixir\, Erlang\, OTP\, Lisp\, Haskell\, Ruby\, Javascript\, Functional Programming\, Object Oriented Programming\, Blockchain\, HashGraph\, Distributed Systems\, Decentralized Systems\, and whatever peaks your interest. \n• What to bring\nA laptop\, good questions\, exciting ideas\, an open mind and a positive attitude. \n• Where to meet\nMeet by the corn hole game in the back and look for others with laptops.\nAsk for others that are there for the software discussion group. \n• Alternate location\nSome nights the Rabbit Hole has live music. I was not able to pin down\nan exact schedule\, just sometimes we would show up and there would be a band but most times there was not. As an alternate location on live music nights the discussion group could be moved just down the street to Lestats coffee shop. They have great coffee and a nice atmosphere for hanging out and discussing software. \n• Important to know\nThis is a self organizing open discussion group that is meant to be organic\, with no main speaker or leader. It is just a time and a place for like minded people to come together to talk about software. \n• Background\nWhen I was staying in SD (Jan-Aug 2018) I was teaching software development at UCSD and the Meetup gave my cohort a space to dive further into topics that the curriculum did not allow time for. When the class was over and I went back to traveling full time\, I thought it would be an interesting experiment to leave the Meetup going and see if people would still gather to discuss software without someone to lead it. I liked the idea of a group that did not require some one to always lead it. A lot off Meetups I have been to before were always one or two people doing a lot of work to organize and put on talks but everyone else just shows up to consume and doesn’t really participate that much. Kinda like going to a movie\, in a way. The idea for this group is that it is what people make it. You get out of it what you put into it. It’s great that people are showing up still and I hope you have some great discussions. When I get back to San Diego (planning on a handful of times a year) and there is a meeting I will stop by and hang out and invite my cohort of previous students.
