Get your 1-2 minute pitches ready for the “Improve your Pitch” panel of industry experts at the FilmNet holiday gala on Tuesday\, Dec. 16 (email me back to get on the list). \nOur tenth monthly gathering will start as usual with a red carpet and photo stations\, brought to you by Tony Amat and R3 Productions. The gala will offer “Spark Super Networking” activities led by co-host David Kamatoy to help local film professionals meet the people they need to connect with. Festivities start with a grand tour of the studio facilities at 4:30 pm\, red carpet at 5:00 and the meeting itself a half-hour earlier than usual\, at 6:00. Drinks will also be for sale\, and food service will start at 8:00 pm.\nWhile everyone will have the opportunity to connect and pitch one-on-one during our networking hour\, we are kicking off the night with a special “Improve Your Pitch” Panel for a select group of 6–10 attendees. Get on the list in advance! Any additional openings will be on a first-come\, first-served basis at the check-in table. This event is located at 1017 S Mollison in El Cajon. \nDATES: \n\nWeekend 1:   Sep 26\, 27 and 28\nWeekend 2:   Oct 3\, 4 and 5\n\nFEST HOURS: \n\nFridays       4 – 10 pm.\nSaturdays 12 – 10 pm.\nSundays   12 – 9 pm.\n\nTICKETS: \n\nFridays and Saturdays\n\n$15 for Adults\nFree for Club Members with current membership card\, Guests under 21 and Active Military\n\n\nSundays – ‘Family Day’\n\n$5 for Adults\nFree for Club Members with current membership card\, Guests under 21 and Active Military\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nABOUT THE EVENT:\nEnjoy German food such as bratwurst\, ox-on-the-spit\, potato pancakes\, sauerkraut\, red cabbage\, potato salad\, salted pretzels\, and a variety of European pastries. Let a great selection of German beers and liquors – or water\, soft drinks and coffee – quench your thirst while you enjoy traditional folk dancing\, choir recitals\, drama routines\, stein-holding competitions\, and interactive musical entertainment. Games\, contests and prizes\, a Kid Zone and a variety of shopping booths line the patio “tent” for additional all-ages fun. Enjoy the Opening Day Parade with Club VIPs and dignitaries\, the Tapping of the Keg\, and the Crowning of our 2025 Oktoberfest Königin (Queen) on Friday\, Sept. 26 at 6:30 p.m.! \nTHE MUSIC:\nOur band\, the Guggenbach-Buam\, joins us from Baden-Württemberg\, Germany. These talented\, entertaining musicians play a variety of German music\, just as you would hear in the beer gardens in Bavaria. Dance or sing along to some wonderful Oom-pah music! Also on stage will be the club’s own Germania Blaskapelle. Finally\, on Saturday nights\, the Clubhouse is also open with live German music by the Gordon Kohl Band. \nTHE RAFFLE:\nRaffle tickets are on sale throughout the Fest. Prizes will be drawn for during band breaks\, and winners must be present to collect their prizes.
